wedding photographer

I don’t know if I’ve ever been so emotional while shooting a wedding before. Maybe it was the fact that now that we have two little girls of our own, we’ve already started dreaming and praying about who they will marry. I realize now that as a parent, its something you always dream and hope the best for. Talking to Kaytlin’s parents, they feel so blessed that their youngest daughter is marrying Bob. They are just amazing together, so giggly and playful, so ready to spend their lives together. It was such a honor to be apart of the whole day. We’re sharing a ridiculous amount of images with you, enjoy friends!First moments together….Prayer. Light. Lovely lovely light. I *heart* this one. A lot. And these.
We love these…This one especially. SO many pretty details, the yellow and white palette was lovely to photograph. Bob+Kaytlin, thank you again for choosing us to capture the most important commitment you will ever make. We were completely honored. We also have hope that our daughters will meet THE right man for them…..in about 25-30 years. :)

Peace friends. rw.

Its a total family affair with Raj + Sara. We photographed Sara’s sister Rachel’s wedding back in 2009. Rachel and Sara are also Ben’s cousins and its so fun to photograph a wedding where people you love are involved. Raj+Sara’s wedding was a little crazy. Due to an all day drizzle fest, their outdoor wedding headed indoors. Depsite the weather, we still traipsed around KC capturing some amazing moments between these two. It was so apparent to us how honored they felt to be with the other, that they got “picked”. It was a sweet time.

First look in a windy tunnel with pretty light…

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, a wealth of visual inspiration. No amount of drizzle could have kept us inside.

This black sculpture completely captivated me. Sara’s delicate porcelain skin against the black texture was outrageous.

LOVE.

One of my favorites of the day. LOVE LOVE LOVE. This was such a quiet moment for all of us.

This is where the wedding was supposed to be. We stopped by just to see how wet it truly was but ultimately Sara + Raj had to make the final call to move their ceremony. It was sad, but we were able to capture these almost fairly tale like images.

No filters used here, just lovely rose bushes softening the scene. I and in LOVE.

The actual ceremony spot. *sigh* But we were all cheered up with some champagne!

The ceremony was moved to the River Market Event Space, the site of their reception. If it was going to be moved inside, we were SO thankful it was here. There was so much natural light and great architecture. Also, both these guys love climbing….notice the groom’s cake. :)

Slightly giddy?

The Don’t Give Up Project, a select group of photographers who care more about marriage than wedding photography. Marriage is seriously our passion. Ask any of our couples. Join the Movement, find out more here!

And then the REAL dance party got started. Watching these families dance together was hilarious and a little dizzying, theres a lot of dancing in circles.

Raj + Sara’s parents. Its inspiring to us to see couples who’ve made made marriage work. Its worth it people!

Raj+Sara, Thank you for such a sweet sweet day with you. We hope these images will be such a blessing to you as you remember the most important commitment you will ever make! We love you!!

The theme of Megan+Landon’s wedding? Family. They are both incredibly close to their parents and siblings and getting to witness such a blending of families was so amazing for us. Ben and I have know Megan and her family for years, first through YoungLife and then through her dad Gene heading to Haiti with us a few years ago. We LOVE these people. They are the most real, honest, (loud) and personal family we’ve ever been around, and they LOVE each other…..a lot. Its impossible not to envy their family bond.

Simply gorgeous.
Uh….this is a family of cheerleaders. No judgement here. :)

Hilarious.
Poor boys.

Ecstatic!

The family emotions here are incredible. These people are so so blessed by each other!

I love how much of them are obscured in this image. You can only imagine their passion.

Love this one.

My sun….

Lincoln, Nebraska in the spring is lovely….
Once when the couple was dating, they sat on this bench during a storm….I love stories like that.

The Lincoln Grand Station, a beautiful venue will some seriously tall ceilings.

Ultra adorable!!!

Landon+Megan, we were so honored that you chose us out of all the other photographers out there. We are so excited for your adventure together! Its going to be a wild ride!

Landon + Megan. Well first of all, they laugh. A lot. Its contagious how giddy they are around each other. We started our shoot practically on top of Lincoln.

See the laughing? I love these next two a lot. Theres something about the light. And they have to go together. They wouldn’t look right separated from each other.

And then we played a game…. in an elevator. Much fun and laughing happened. And waiting for other people to get off the elevator.

And then we experienced warmth and light and quiet.
And dancing…. they’re taking dance lessons together. I’ve always always wanted to take dance lessons, hint hint.I like happy somewhat burry accidents like this one. Sassiness. Megan is gorgeous.
Another beautifully soft dreamy image. Probably my favorite of the day. The sunset. If I could photograph people at sunset everyday I would.

Landon + Megan, we are FREAKED to photograph your wedding next year! Literally. FREAKED. Happy Tuesday friends.

Peace.

Derek + Carissa, all the way from Nashville, TN. I think they hold the record for clients with the shortest engagement, they hired me last month and their wedding is in two weeks. Yikes!

I stumbled onto this old house early in the Spring. It appears to be an antique shop, and its jammed packed with stuff. However, theres no way in. There are doors, but no doorknobs. Very mysterious.

LOVE.

Why wouldn’t I take pictures of them next to the hawk-o-awesomness. I thought you would love that.

This next part is hilarious and give some insight into the playfulness and spontaneity of these guys.

Adorable.

Hilarious right? :)

*Smile*

Friends, your wedding is almost here!
