Lincoln Engagement Photographer

Its a beautiful afternoon for blogging. May we introduce Jake + Brianne. They happen to be getting married on our 10 year (YES I SAID 10 YEAR) anniversary. Why would we be photographing a wedding on such a big day you ask? History. Ben met Jake at the wee age of 12 and went on countless adventures with him through an organization called YoungLife. We simply could. not. say. no. So we said yes. And he has fallen in love with the lovely Brianne. Its apparent that she gets him. They get each other. So even on such a big day for us, we get join in the start of their marriage adventure.

A bit of a broken down building on a lovely sunny morning. Reuben + Jess entered this experience with so much humility and it was a risk for them to be so open with us. These images communicate our time together.

Reuben and Jess were not jazzed (yep I said jazzed) about being photographed. But we had to start somewhere…..so I started shooting them from VERY far away.

Then got a bit closer, letting their feet get comfortable with the camera.

And closer still.

And then silliness, laugher, and Walk Like an Egyptian poses.

I like.

I’m obsessed with light. I’m obsession with the contrast of light in this image.

I told Jess she is absolutely crazy if she doesn’t realize how truly photogenic she is.

More proof. Holy wow.Secret code for something….Uh…Jess can juggle? And theres going to be balloon animals being tied at their wedding. Yep. Seriously she is stunning. And workin it.

One of the only times Reuben looked straight at the camera.

Reuben + Jess will be married in two weeks in a picnic style wedding south of Lincoln. I honestly cannot wait to photograph them again. Peace friends. rw

ps. I dare you not to have Walk Like An Egyptian in your head the rest of the day. I know I did. And will.

We spent a lovely evening with Collin + Emily last night. This image was one of the last I took. No photoshop effects, brushes or textures. Just a homemade filter and a creative burst of excitement.

Much more to come and their wedding is only ONE month away. Peace friends. rw

Jake+Katie, a couple so at ease it was beautiful to photograph. They were a little nervous of course, but soon realized that this was a time to just be together, to laugh and cuddle together, to reflect on the future, to let me hear more of their story. And to fly a kite.
We spent the evening at James Arther Vineyard in Raymond, NE. It was gorgeous out!
This is an example of jake+katie just hanging out, I asked them to sit down in any way that was comfortable, and this is how they sat. I loved it! It wasn’t posed or contrived, just normal and visually interesting.

Love this one. Love that they know how to laugh together.

If you’ve never been out to James Arthur Vineyards, its absolutely wonderful. Go, take a book, have a glass of wine. Its awesome.

Dancing….

My favorite of the day. I LOVE IT.
A dip….
Random buffalo. Fun ensues.

We’re standing together, talking about Haiti, I wasn’t even really paying attention to them, I was just focusing on what I was saying. I look up, and THIS is how they’re standing. Capturing this couple in so many real ways was inspiring to me.
And then Katie got embarrassed. :) But still SO adorable.

Oh, we also flew a kite. :)

Thank you friends, for such a great evening. I was inspired but your connection and your story. We’re honored to get to be a small part of it. rw.

Nervous giggles, silly seriousness, and a lot of sunlight.
Monique has the most amazing smile. Truly its beautiful. Sometimes I take pictures upside down. I happen to like it. :) This was a lovely moment. LOVE LOVE these two images. I call this silly serious. I can’t believe how much I love Monique here. I call this serious serious.

Joel and Monique, we’re excited to be a part of your story, thank you for letting us. rw.
