Dewitt, Nebraska. A glorious place full of small town wonder and the setting for Josh + Jen’s wedding. What I love about their day was the time they set aside for pictures. We weren’t rushed or stressed for time, we just wandered around the town for an hour or two. Time is definitely an important part of our artistic process.

Jen teared up a lot during the day. I was in love with it.
See? More tears.
Of course we took a few shots in front of a big rig parked outside the church. Of course we did.

We are passionate about marriage and what you experience, believe, feel on your wedding day is worth fighting for. You may not always feel so gushy, you may lose faith in each other. Our hope is that this image and the meaning behind the Don’t Give Up Project will remind you of your commitment on your wedding day, how profoundly you believed in one another and your marriage. What you have is worth fighting for.

Oh yeah. We broke into the town pool. It was freakin sweet. Also, boys like to play with snakes. Why is that?

This next image emphasizes why we do what we do. We are human and life is incredibly precious. So for us, getting to photograph people is an honor. Jen with one of her bridesmaids, Alicia Rea. Alicia passed away just two weeks after the wedding after a tragic car accident. I know Jen will treasure this image of her friend forever.

We also chatted with the neighbors…
I think Josh + Jen hold the record for fastest ceremony ever. Someone timed it at 11 minutes.

I would never normally even photograph the marriage certificate being signed, let alone put it on my blog. But this photo just cracked me up! Jen’s sister, Lindsey (whos wedding I also photographed) juggling wedding responsibilities and child.

These boys are peeing. Just had to sneak that in. I know, I’m gross. Whatev

Happy Wednesday friends, Peace.
