Ben says I’ll feel better if I just start posting pictures. We’ll see.

Friends, today is a big day and not because I’m doing something big or significant. I’m not. But I am going to Haiti today, I’m going back to a place I love to be with people I love. And I will do what I was made to do; take pictures. Ben and I are going with 31 other doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and others on a trip that has been in the works since last year. The Earthquake in January drastically changed our plans but we decided that if something was needed, it was medical care.

This is Kevinson, meaning Kevin’s son, when he came to the orphanage, only his fathers name was known. The photo on the left was taken in 2007. He was very thin, despondent, and we were concerned he had brain damage from malnutrition. Imagine my joy when we came back a year later and he was happy, healthy, and running around with all the other children.

I will be updating this blog as much as I can throughout the week. We would be incredibly blessed by your thoughts and prayers, you are our friends, you are our family.

See you next week!

***UPDATE! Incredible updates from Global Orphan Project from the last five days. Read about their efforts here. Please continue to pray and give. I also wanted to thank all of the friends who have called and emailed Ben and I about Haiti. We praise the Lord that our passion has spilled over onto others in ways we can’t even understand. We love you friends,

**UPDATE: Another great place to give is El Shaddia Ministries. This is an organization headed up by two Haitian pastors. We’ve met them, stayed in their homes, worshipped at their church in Haiti, and trust them completely. This is where we have decided to give.

The Global Orphan Project and ESMI are intricately connected as they help care for some of the same orphans in Haiti. Giving to either organization would be a huge blessing. Please continue to pray about giving financially.

Between Ben and I, we’ve made 7 trips to Haiti in the last four years. There’s no way of knowing the utter chaos our friends are experiencing. Please pray, and if you can, send aid. THE GLOBAL ORPHAN PROJECT is an organization that Ben and I trust completely. 100% of donations go toward caring for orphans. If you aren’t sure where to give, give to THE GLOBAL ORPHAN PROJECT. Please read updates on their blog for info on how to do this. I will be updating this post during the day with more detailed info on how to give.

*Here is an updated link on how you can give. http://theglobalorphanproject.org/?p=1538

Thanks friends,

rw
