Don’t Give Up

Today I’m dreaming of warmer days in the Nebraska country. This Nebraska prairie land near Red Cloud, Nebraska was one of the most peaceful places I’ve been on earth. Getting to photograph John + Erin there on their wedding day was just an added bonus.

I am 100% in love with Erin’s dress.
I like this series…

…especially this one.

There was so much open space…

Here’s to warm summers in the country. Thank you John+Erin, we loved being apart of your story.

Jake+Katie: history, family, friendships, dancing, flowers, high school romance, travel, story, laughter, adventure, love. And now marriage. Thank you for allowing Ben and I to enter in the story with you, we were honored to be there, to photograph you, and now to watch you set out on your adventure together.

I don’t know if I’ve ever been so emotional while shooting a wedding before. Maybe it was the fact that now that we have two little girls of our own, we’ve already started dreaming and praying about who they will marry. I realize now that as a parent, its something you always dream and hope the best for. Talking to Kaytlin’s parents, they feel so blessed that their youngest daughter is marrying Bob. They are just amazing together, so giggly and playful, so ready to spend their lives together. It was such a honor to be apart of the whole day. We’re sharing a ridiculous amount of images with you, enjoy friends!First moments together….Prayer. Light. Lovely lovely light. I *heart* this one. A lot. And these.
We love these…This one especially. SO many pretty details, the yellow and white palette was lovely to photograph. Bob+Kaytlin, thank you again for choosing us to capture the most important commitment you will ever make. We were completely honored. We also have hope that our daughters will meet THE right man for them…..in about 25-30 years. :)

Peace friends. rw.

Justin + Heidi had a great idea. A day after session. Even though their wedding wasn’t in some exotic location, which is normally where day after sessions take place, we all decided it was the best idea ever. And I love these images. A lot. A lot a lot. Don’t get me wrong, after shooting till 11pm the night before, it was not fun to get up at 8:30, but the end product was totally worth it. I was completely inspired. LOVE LOVE LOVEIncredible clouds….

My favorite I think… I just love how Heidi’s hair is whipping all around. The Don’t Give Up Project. An idea/mission/experience thats more about marriage than wedding photography. Marriage is worth it friends, Don’t Give Up.
Sun….We’re not usually big on ring shots. Theres no reason really, we’re just not. But Justin really wanted a great one…I think it turned out pretty rad. (also, I’m bringing the word rad back)Honestly, no posing went on here, they’re just incredibly snuggly. It was adorable. And inspirational. Love these last few. What an incredible journey its been, and now you’re married!! We loved getting to photograph you both, thank you for the honor. rw

Sean+Jenny’s backyard wedding/reception was filled with so much love and joy. We LOVED being there, witnessing families grow and change, friends weeping for each other, and a couple making the biggest commitment of their lives. We were also chased wildly by mosquitoes. Luckily, we had golf carts, the mosquitoes were no match for us.

Starting the day of right….Lovely…
There was a TOMS theme going on. Sparkles were included. Anticipation.

Prayer.

Jenny has some pretty amazing family and friends. Not a dry eye during this prayer time.

I love this look Sean’s mom gave him, so much gravity. She was so proud of him, it was pretty adorable.

AH! Father – daughter. LOVE.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!
So. much. emotion. Wow, these girls were hilarious. Hi-a-ri-ous. Sound of Music hilarious. You know what I’m talking about. Ok so we had a big of a bug problem. Mosquitoes were EVERYWHERE. We were on the run in golf carts trying to find a secluded place to shoot. Everywhere we landed we’d get attacked. At one point, my job was to shoot and Ben’s job was to protect my face.  We eventually had to spray each down from head to toe in bug spray, then take pictures. Despite the craziness, we’re pretty proud of the result.   We were getting swarmed here. Worth it.
Intimate. And slightly out of focus. My favorite spot of the day
Love. Their Don’t Give Up image. Read about what that even is hereAdorable details…

Maybe my favorite cake cutting pic of all time?Big brother. And then the crazy faces started. I can’t even explain these…*SIGH* I have to stop somewhere, this post is ridiculously long already. Jenny+Sean, thank you for choosing us, it was an honor to be there. Peace friends. rw.
