Don’t Give Up

Oh dear what a day this was…. I cried at least five times, I’m sure of it. Lindsay is such a passionate person, and it just spills over onto everyone around her. Andrew has great taste in beer, which Ben loved! Their wedding day was filled with emotion, romance, a good amount of wind, and a lot of tears.

Sisters….
I love the gentle way Candace, Lindsay’s sister, took care of her on her wedding day.

I’m not even sure what to say about the cat, except, they love this cat. A lot.

Lucky Bucket….. (Homer Simpson gargling sound)

Happy tears….We spent a little time at Lucile’s, a lovely spot with light and history. And a fantastical piano. And a courtyard…Help me out here…are these rain barrels?

An oasis near downtown Omaha….

In LOVE with Lindsay’s eyes!

The sun hid behind the clouds for just a few minutes giving Lindsay the most amazing glow….

The Don’t Give Up project….a movement of photographers that place a higher value on marriage rather than wedding photography. Crazy, I know.

The Paxton Ballroom ….a picturesque location for Andrew+Lindsay’s french romance themed wedding.Right before Lindsay walked down the aisle, I lost it. Actual tears streaming down my face. Some of the loveliest flowers I think I’ve ever seen decorated the tables. And the DESSERTS! Lovestru.ck created a whole patisserie filled with treats beyond great!

See? Floral perfection. Annnndddd then the dance party got started….. wow. Andrew+Lindsay, thank you for the honor of being your photographers. We were blessed by your passion, your beer choices, and of course, your commitment to each other. What you have is worth fighting for. Don’t Give Up.

Peace. rw.

There are WAY too many images from this wedding that I wanted to blog, so instead, I’m focusing on time we got to spend with just Joel + Monique. They purposely laid out their wedding day so we could wander around downtown Lincoln together, letting inspiration take the lead. *Disclaimer: This image is not meant to discourage entering marriage. We thought that may be confusing.
I was absolutely inspired by the lighting in this space…Big sky love. Hello bridesmaids.
Monique’s eyes are lovely.

Wonderfully in love with this image. Yes the faces in these images are tiny. So what. We like them anyway. Groomsman are silly. The Don’t Give Up Project. A movement of photographers that believe marriage is supremely more important than weddings. We care about marriage, a lot. We want to share that with you. Pretty light….and kick ass socks. Thank you friends, for letting us in, for including us in such a sacred moment. We’re humbled that you chose us out of all the photographers out there (even the really bad ones). Your commitment to each other sustains us. Much love. rw

Today I’m dreaming of warmer days in the Nebraska country. This Nebraska prairie land near Red Cloud, Nebraska was one of the most peaceful places I’ve been on earth. Getting to photograph John + Erin there on their wedding day was just an added bonus.

I am 100% in love with Erin’s dress.
I like this series…

…especially this one.

There was so much open space…

Here’s to warm summers in the country. Thank you John+Erin, we loved being apart of your story.

Jake+Katie: history, family, friendships, dancing, flowers, high school romance, travel, story, laughter, adventure, love. And now marriage. Thank you for allowing Ben and I to enter in the story with you, we were honored to be there, to photograph you, and now to watch you set out on your adventure together.

I don’t know if I’ve ever been so emotional while shooting a wedding before. Maybe it was the fact that now that we have two little girls of our own, we’ve already started dreaming and praying about who they will marry. I realize now that as a parent, its something you always dream and hope the best for. Talking to Kaytlin’s parents, they feel so blessed that their youngest daughter is marrying Bob. They are just amazing together, so giggly and playful, so ready to spend their lives together. It was such a honor to be apart of the whole day. We’re sharing a ridiculous amount of images with you, enjoy friends!First moments together….Prayer. Light. Lovely lovely light. I *heart* this one. A lot. And these.
We love these…This one especially. SO many pretty details, the yellow and white palette was lovely to photograph. Bob+Kaytlin, thank you again for choosing us to capture the most important commitment you will ever make. We were completely honored. We also have hope that our daughters will meet THE right man for them…..in about 25-30 years. :)

Peace friends. rw.
