What is LOVE EQUALS?
Hi, nice to meet you. Ben really does throw me over his shoulder like that. It makes him feel manly.
We’re Ben & Reneé, a husband and wife photography team living in Lincoln, Nebraska. We love it here. We have a porch swing, ten coffee shops in a two mile radius and best friends that live a short walk away. Ben misses me when I’m gone, and kisses me when I’m around. We’re foster/adoptive parents to two WONDERFUL girls, Ruby(3) and Cora(5). We’re committed to living intentionally with our community and could not thrive without them. In our eight years of marriage, we’ve learned to live, celebrate, fight, work, parent, play, and grieve together. This journey isn’t rosy or perfect, so we promise not to be perfect either. We just like telling stories using pictures.
Reneé has been shooting professionally for 7 years, and we have been shooting as a team for the last 4 years. We are professionally trained and hold our work and business to the highest standard. LOVE EQUALS isn’t a hobby or a part-time job, its our life and livelihood.
We also love Haiti and our reason for starting LOVE EQUALS was in part to help orphans living there. For every wedding or portrait commission, orphans receive help in the form of water, food, education and shelter. Contact us if you want to hear more, we love talking about it!
Thanks for being here and looking into our world. Take some time to get to know us by looking around the blog. We like that you’re here. Stay awhile.
Reneé also loves editorial/commercial photography. You can find that portfolio as well as her fine art photography at www.reneewelstead.com
P.S. Yes, the large pictures of us are somewhat narcissistic. BUT, they were taken at a wonderful moment in our lives and we want you to get a feel for what we’re like before we meet. We hope you don’t think we’re too vain. They were taken by our fabulous friends the Parsons Photographers.
P.S.S. Yes we know, the hearts are cheesy.
This is us. Images by the fantastic Parsons Photographers from the 1st Don’t Give Up Project.

Hi Ben and Renee —
How are you 2? It’s been a long while!
I have a few Q’s for you. How is your Summer Photog Schedule looking? Are you booked up yet? I’m just starting to plan a WEDDING!
It will probably be in Brownville, NE and probably in July. How does that look in your schedule, and what kind of prices would we be looking at?
I can’t wait to catch up with you too.
Blessings,
Amy Smith
PS – I haven’t started telling too many people of this wedding planning stuff. The engagement probably won’t happen until Februrary — so Anne and Chris don’t even know yet. Shhhh!!
Hello you two!
My name is Piper Tenney, and I am wanting a little more information about your engagement/wedding packages! I am a good friend of Kristine Fry and she told me about you two and shared your website with me. Ummmmm WOW. I absolutely adore not only you work, but your transparency and honesty with who you are and what your hearts are passionate about. Anywhooo, my fiance Kelsey and I are getting married May 27 of this year, and I guess the best place to start off is to see if you two are available that date! And if you are, could you perhaps contact me with some of your pricing? We have been having trouble finding a photographer that is really going to use their artistry and passion to portray OUR passion as a couple, which is sharing the love and grace of Jesus and believing with every fiber of our being that he has called us to do that together. Feel free to email me back or you can call me at if that is easier for you. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!
…i am really liking this
And… just so you know… I watch this every once in awhile just for inspiration.
Hi Renee. I am a friend of the Sayer family and I have a newborn that I need a session for. Please let me know if you have anything available. I would want the in studio session for just one child.
Thanks so much.
